Gloria J Zucaro's "Cookies And Butter-cream""

6"H x 6"W  Original Oil on Raymar Panel
$65.00 Unframed/ $80.00 Framed in plain black wooden Frame.

This painting can be purchased on the Daily Paintworks auction site under my name.  You may see my gallery of paintings there also.

A good painting friend invited me over to paint and have dinner.  What a deal!  She furnished the still life(except for my lime green plate that I bought in the clearance area of Joanne Fabrics) and made a terrific dinner, too.  When I came up with this title, I was thinking of the buttercream frosting which was really yummy, and the cookies.  A little take off on "cookies and cream".

Another upside down cereal bowl!  I must be starting a trend??  Well, if I had left it right side up, the cupcake would have only been peaking over the top edge of the bowl from the inside!   My friend Laura, (also an artist, sometimes watercolor and sometimes pastel), gave me the cupcake and I forgot to eat it that day.  The next time I went to the studio to paint it was practically petrified as in The Petrified Forest.  But therefore holding its' delicious folds of butter-cream and sprinkles easily.   However, for some reason no one wanted to eat it after I finished the painting????

I love pears, so firm but yet juicy.  The title is from Johanna Arnett who reminded us when we took her workshop last year, when you don't know what to do,red, yellow, blue.

I was half way through this and I realized what a task I had set myself, so many different textures, shapes and shadows, but I struggled on and am pleased with the finished painting.

With a twist...

Yellow seems to be everywhere this week... I even painted lemons wearing a yellow shirt...ah.,but the twist is that lemons are so cleansing and refreshing that we might listen to the visual message and actually twist and squeeze for well being.... the painting serves as a constant reminder.. 6 x 12...this is acrylic on linen...palette knife and brush ...$ 125 includes shipping...contact gigihackford@yahoo.com or call 251-721-3742

6"H x 6"W on Raymar Canvas Panel
$65.00 unframed, $80.00 Framed, plus shipping to your location.

Unframed/Framed

That sounds like a healthy breakfast!  I love to "pose" my subjects in unusual ways, so the cereal bowl is upside down supporting the cup.  The lemon gets center stage.  Oops!  Where is the spoon?  Oh well, I guess I will eat my granola dry...with my fingers.  Makes it last longer anyway!

Gloria J Zucaro's "Spring Faces"

6"H x 6"W on Raymar Canvas Panel
$65.00 unframed, $80.00 Framed, plus shipping to your location.

Unframed/Framed

Ah! Remember Spring...I think it lasted about two minutes!  Well, these lovely ladies were in small pots on my front step/planter area.  I just returned from a week away at The Clearing Folk Art School in Ellison Bay, Wisconsin.  I took an excellent oil/pastel workshop from Frankie Johnson and was also there while the Door County Plein Air Festival was going on.  Anyway, I digress...When i returned i found all my potted plants to be burned to a pulp by the incredibly hot and humid weather that the Chicago area had during the past week.  So even though my pansies had gotten a little leggy the first of July, I had cut them back to rejuvenate them and kept up the watering and some fertilizer.  But to no avail!!  They are officially over!   But you may have them forever..what a deal!

1488 'Boxed' SOLD

6" x 12" oil on panel,

These three lovely hand thrown pots have been collected here and there, I especially like hand made pieces with their beautiful glazes and uniqueness. In the box that I posed them in, once held 2 special bottles of French wine given to me as a thank you for a portrait commission I completed a little while ago.  I love to collect items I think I might be able to use in a still life set up.

Unframed and ready to hang.
$75.00 plus shipping to your location.

I love all kinds of orchids and they are the flowers I paint most frequently.  These are just the very tops of an orchid plant I have on my desk.  I had planned to paint the whole plant with the long, long stems and all...but the beautiful flowers themselves would have been lost, too miniature.

"Priscilla" Original Still Life Lemon Painting by Colorado Artist Kelli Miller

I paint in an old boarding house. There are 14 artists in the building and we each have our own studio. Literally our own studio apartment. Only about 300 square feet. There are usually five or six artists in the building at one time. When I finish a painting I get so excited that I go around and show it to anyone that is there. Judy is a fellow painter and she is a hoot! When I took this down to show her she exclaimed "Priscilla!" That's how it got it's name!

A Second Coreopsis
100 Garden and Floral Oil Paintings, 73/100
6" x 6" Oil
$100.00 + $10. s/h

With this coreopsis, I used the purple complement for most of the dark and shadows, with touches of cad orange.  This darkens by graying a bit, and the effect is not as cool as the previous painting.

Coreopsis
6" x 6" Oil
$100.00 + $10. s/h

Right now our back yard is filled with coreopsis.  So, I decided it's a great time to paint yellows.  Yellow can be tricky.  Do you darken it with green and make it cool?  Do you darken it with orange and make it warm?  Do you use the complement, purple, and gray it a little?  I'll be posting coreopsis done in all of the above ways.  In this one, I mixed the cool yellow and brushed it on, one stroke, then a clean brush:  over and over.    I like the way it's kind of "stripey."

"Chocolate Cupcake" By Kelli Miller

My sister's birthday was yesterday. So in honor of her I painted a festive little cupcake. This one is an odd size, it's 4x8 in. I had some canvas panel left over and didn't want it to go to waste!

"Slice of Summertime" by Kelli Miller

Funny thing, I was painting this "Slice of Summertime" while it was raining and only 66 degrees here in Colorado. That's what I love about living in Colorado...90 degrees one day and 66 the next!
