"English Daisy" Still Life Painting of Daises Flower Art Daisy by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

English Daisies are often seen in the southern garden. As a cut flower they give pleasure to the home for several days. I always have said they when I become wealthy, I will have fresh flowers in my home at all times! While I have not accumulated monetary wealth, I have wealth in all areas of my life that are really satisfying. The still life acrylic painting of daisies simply titled "English Daisy" reminds us of the need to be grateful in our daily lives.

"Washed and Waxed" Original Vintage Truck Red Truck Painting by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

A friend of mine has taken such care with his cherished vintage truck! "Washed and Waxed" is an original landscape oil painting on a canvas panel. While visiting my friend's property, I photographed one of these prized trucks and fell in love with the bright red, highly polished beauty. I always wanted a bright red truck to ride around in so getting to paint one is the next best thing!

" A Fresh Start" Original Still Life Oil Painting With Lillies by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Lillies remind us of new growth in nature and in our lives! "A Fresh Start"" are akin in that they are both organic, from the bounty of the earth. The peaceful colors in my oil still life painting on canvas give it a freshness that is beautiful in it's surroundings! Each of us welcomes a fresh start every morning so let's take a spirit of thankfulness into each new day.

He Knows My Favorite Color by Pamela Blaies

He Knows My Favorite Color
9" x 12"
oil on linen

These yellow roses were part of a gorgeous bouquet my husband gave me on our anniversary this past Friday. They are the prettiest butter yellow. Setting up this composition, I put the light source pretty close and they became dazzlingly brilliant to my eyes. The color seemed to radiate from within, out into the very air around them. I think it gives them a kind of dreamy effect - very romantic. My sweetheart knows I am nuts about flowers, especially roses. He also knows my favorite color of rose -- it changes depending on the one I'm looking at that moment!

Happy Anniversary to Me! by Pamela Blaies

Polished Silver Shine
18" x 14"
oil on linen

Today is my wedding anniversary of 16 years! My sweetheart is a great husband and father. Without his support, I would never be able to survive this crazy artist life! I'm thankful for him every day.

Here is a brand new painting I just finished yesterday. I enjoyed the challenge of creating atmosphere around the pitcher to make the freshly polished silver pitcher shine right off the canvas.

Labor Day Break? by Pamela Blaies

Texas Lilacs and Lemon Slices
24" x 18"
oil on linen

I am enjoying spending time with my family this weekend. Mostly fun time, but today we are working on cleaning out the garage together. WAIT! Isn't Labor Day supposed to be a day to take a break from labor? Oh well, it's fun doing it together! Speaking of satisfying labor, this painting is one I finished last week. My focus on creating a more loose feel in my work is really inspiring me. It requires a careful consideration of edges and thoughtful placement of brushstrokes.

And Fruit by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
Always I seem to have a problem with naming my paintings. I stand before them when they are done
and I am sure I must have the most puzzled look. What should I call it? With each one special and deserving of a good name sometimes I am sure I fall short. But when you have named almost 2,000 paintings they all seem to run together. Anyway that is my dilemma. Fruit painting, floral painting, art
I have been painting larger lately. This one is a 20x16 oil on gallery wrapped canvas.
