Botanical Fine Art Painting, "PURPLE DATURA" The Art of Nature, Fine Art by Mindy Lighthipe

Purple is my favorite color. When I saw this beautiful double trumpet Datura I knew I would have to have it in my garden! Every year it grows and drops its seeds. Any burst of cold weather in Florida will kill the plant but the wonderful seed heads burst open and the plant rejuvenates itself. It is breath taking and easy to grow!

Still Life, Watercolor Fine Art Painting "2 EGGPLANTS" The Art of Nature, Fine Art by Mindy Lighthipe

Purple is by far my favorite color! I had fun doing these 2 eggplants as a part of my online watercolor class demonstrations. I used lots of strong color to get the bold dark almost black purple and hardly any color on the variegated one. It was challenging and I enjoy pushing myself in different directions, learning just how far I can push the paint. This listing is for the original and ships free in the continental USA. All other inquires please contact the artist for shipping costs.

Study with Mindy Lighthipe, Botanical Fine Art Painting, Iris,Watercolor "PURPLE IRIS WITH SWALLOWTAIL BUTTERFLY" by Mindy Lighthipe

For most of my adult life I have been an avid gardener. My beginning years were in New Jersey where I had an extensive collection of bearded irises. It was always a thrill to see these tall flowers blooming in the garden and even a bigger thrill when a Swallowtail Butterfly would hover it and gather nectar.

The Original is sold, now available as a Fine Art Reproduction HERE
