Colorful Cast Shadows by Pamela Blaies

I painted this one pretty fast and loose and it was a lot of fun. I think I'm getting the hang of cast shadows from colored glass. I also like the scumbling effect I got with the highlights of the white napkin. It gives it nice texture and a feeling of energy.

Daylilies and Cobalt by Pamela Blaies

6" x 6"

I had to cut these Daylilies, from my yard, pretty short for this little bud vase. But I really wanted to put them with cobalt blue for a striking combination. I put the light source behind the setup and down pretty low. It not only made the cobalt glass cast vivid shadows onto the white napkin, but also illuminated the top Daylily from behind which gave it an orange glow.
