Allegorical, Realism, Surrealism, Fine Art, Still-Life Oil Paintings by Paula Peacock

 Double Departure
by Paula Peacock
18" x 22"
Oil on Canvas

In 2014 I lost both my son and my little sister to a better place. This painting depicts that loss.

The butterflies in the mirror indicate what we on earth think of as angels. They are powerful yet gentle entities that have led my son and sister(represented by the 2 monks gazing at each ) to 'The Other Side' of the mirror. The 3rd monk(me) is on the outside looking in. Or am I looking out? A thin white ribbon reminds us we are all connected.

I just posted about this painting yesterday. I didn't think I would get the video put together until next month, but I had an unexpected afternoon off and here it is.

Sweet Memories by Pamela Blaies

Keepsake
12" x 9"
oil on linen

I went to hang my pretty, new, yellow anniversary roses to dry and needed to make room on the hook. Turns out these red roses were still hanging there from last year's anniversary gift. Keepsakes and sweet memories!

Happy Homecoming by Pamela Blaies

Scarlet Ribbon
7" x 5"
oil on linen

A beach in Mexico with my love and a cabin on the lake in Missouri with the family. Just returned home this week from a few weeks of travelling where I forced myself to relax and take a break from painting. Almost like art withdrawals after painting daily for several months. I was happy to return home, get back in the studio and see that Scarlett Ribbon received a FAV15 jury award for June! Check out the August Entry HERE.
