My videos are proof that out of the hours I spend on creating a piece of artwork, only a small fraction of time is spent with the brush actually on the canvas. I do a lot of intently looking at my subject, standing back to look at my work and and one of the most important steps....drinking coffee:) This was probably around Petite Painting #15, but I saved it to post until after the video was completed. I found this rosebud in my yard on a rosebush full of blooms. I was tempted to add another rose to the composition, but sometimes less is more and this was one of those times. I love the elegance of this painting.
