Giselle McMenamin- SO MANY ARTISTS/GALLERIES CAN MAKE USE OF THE ARTICLE BELOW

Many times I 've walked into a gallery, in NYC mind you, to be treated like I wasn't even there. Not a good sales approach for sure. Usually I'm scoping the location out to see what the reception is like and if I'd want to show my work there. Why bother putting time into a show if nobody is going to support your work with enthusiasm or general information?? "Leftovers" by Giselle McMenamin

"Leftovers" 6x6" oil on panel
Thought I would post today's painting I did for the Daily Paintworks -Balance Challenge. I appropriately named it Leftovers because no one would finish the end of the blueberries. I must say I always under estimate how much time these small works take! Had a lot of fun once I got into it. Feedback always welcomed.

I'm a newbie here  and just signed up with CFAI. Looking forward to contributing to this blog and seeing everyone's work on here. Very inspirational! The above piece is one I painted for the Daily Paintworks challenge "Value Study". It was a bit of a struggle getting the dark values dark because the burnt umber was so translucent. A great exercise regardless.
