Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, "A Cool One" by Carol Schiff, 10x10x.75 Oil

Serving up Margarita today!  This small oil painting, worked with a palette knife, is chock full of ice cubes, lime slices and a salty rim.

Painted with a palette knife and lots of chunky texture.  I had a little difficulty bringing interest to this painting.  When that happens, my first line of attack is the palette knife.  I like the subtle color changes I can achieve with the knife and of course I can give it as much or as little texture as I desire.  Usually I desire a lot of texture!  I have to remind myself that less is more.

"English Daisy" Still Life Painting of Daises Flower Art Daisy by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

English Daisies are often seen in the southern garden. As a cut flower they give pleasure to the home for several days. I always have said they when I become wealthy, I will have fresh flowers in my home at all times! While I have not accumulated monetary wealth, I have wealth in all areas of my life that are really satisfying. The still life acrylic painting of daisies simply titled "English Daisy" reminds us of the need to be grateful in our daily lives.

It seems the longer this winter drags on, the more I want to paint flowers...especially orange and yellow flowers! Have heart, winter will soon disappear!

It is already spring here in Florida.  Yesterday I went to Sebastian Inlet State Park for a little summer jump start.

To finish off the day, we had lunch on a big deck at Sebastian Beach Inn, only steps away from the waves.  P*E*R*F*E*C*T

Enjoy the day....spring will soon be here, and don't forget to pin my flower painting!

I set up my still life and looked at that pear and thought, "This reminds me of somebody I know who could charm a grumpy old man into being a sweet little boy again".

My 8"x8" acrylic palette knife painting is titled, "Charmed".  It's loaded with texture and my favorite blues.  It's just waiting to put a smile on the face of its future collector.

I liked the fresh brushwork and the abstract shapes in this painting

I like painting flowers because I love the vibrant colors and I can make the shapes whatever I want them to be.  Most of my flower paintings are free of detail and stress.  I almost feel like I am playing when I paint them.  The next time you are close to tearing your hair out, I highly recommend, step back and take a deep breath.....and work on a flower painting!

Michelangelo said, "I am still learning."  Personally,  there are still many discoveries yet to be made, paintings to be rendered, and more to learn.  It's thrilling to know there's so much to look forward to!

This is my 48"x48" acrylic palette knife painting, "Absolute Joy".  I had a lot of fun with this one!  It's loaded with texture and looking for a home where it can be a stunning focal point for all to enjoy.  Contact me:  CLICK HERE  See more of my work:  www.JillSaurFineArt.com

"Under The Surface" Original Still Life Floral Painting by Colorado Artist Nancee Jean Busse

I belong to local CSA. When we pick up our weekly allotment of produce, sometimes we are allowed to pick a bouquet of flowers from an unruly patch of Colorado wildflowers. I gathered this armful of blooms, brought them home, and placed them in a plain glass vase and put them on my windowsill. I loved them! The star of the show for me, though, was how beautiful and delicate the stems under the water’s surface looked. The background is a series of glazes, all whites, off-whites, beiges, pale pinks, and browns. The flowers are, well… flowers. This painting received an honorable mention in the Artist’s Magazine annual competition: 7800 entries–18 winners. Even though the original sold fairly quickly, the prints are wonderful!

This painting is sold, but prints are available in multiple sizes HERE

Blue Flowers on Canvas by Atlanta Artist, Jill Saur

purple flowers painting
©1990-2014  Blue Flower Painting by Jill Saur, all rights reserved

This is my new 12"x12" acrylic palette knife painting on canvas.  It's titled, "Blue Flowers".

When I work with my palette knife, I use an impasto style that I developed for myself over fifteen years ago.  The richly textured paint seemingly brings my trees and flowers to life.
My patrons tell me they feel like they can walk into one of my landscapes or reach out and pluck a petal from one of my flower paintings.  That makes me smile!
